Whe y are working with sheet and thin metals, then a MIG welders are also perfect for it. By welding in lower amperage that you will be able to do this one. It is also the MIG welder that uses DC to strike the welding arc. It is not a steady arc that you will get the moment that you will use an AC.

The voltage, amperage and the speed can also be adjusted in a MIG welder. It is also possible to adjust the tensioner on the welding wire as it also has a valve to control the flow of gas.

You can also use a MIG welder without using any gas at all. When you do this, then you are doing a process known as the FCAW or flux cored arc welding. The FCAW uses a wire that is hollow and filled with flux.

Since the flux core wire is much hotter, you can use it when working with thicker metals. The moment that you will be using an FCAW, then you will be removing slags which are similar to an ordinary welder and that is the downside of it. Thinner and light sheet metals can also be weld by an FCAW.
